Wallpaper Forest Fauna 972-2

Forest Fauna 972-2 places the same woodland scene on an ochre yellow ground. The warm yellow gives the room a sunlit tone even on a north facing window and sits well with wooden furniture and green textiles.

Forest Fauna gathers watercolour woodland residents: a fox with her cubs, a fawn, a family of rabbits, a squirrel, a hedgehog, birds and butterflies among eucalyptus sprigs, ferns and small mushrooms. The animals are painted calmly and each keeps its own place, so the pattern never turns busy.

Mika is the children's collection from ICH Wallcoverings, where watercolour animals and landscapes are matched with quiet stripes, textures and plain companions so that the walls of one room can be put together as a set. The paper is non woven and of the Easy Up type: the paste goes onto the wall rather than onto the paper, and a dry length can still be slid into place. The roll measures 53 cm × 10.05 m with a 53 cm repeat and a straight match, so the pattern joins at the same height on every length.

The surface is washable, so fingerprints and marks come off with a damp cloth. Lightfastness is very good, which means a sunny wall will not fade quickly. When the room is redone, the old covering comes away dry in one piece and the wall underneath needs no fresh filling.
