Isadora

Isadora goes back to Paris in the 1920s, where the supple floral ornament of Art Nouveau meets the clear geometry of Art Deco. Behind the collection stand the 1925 exhibition of decorative arts and the dancing of Isadora Duncan: flowing movement and a precise line on the same wall. The names point to the Paris arcades, from Vivienne to Choiseul.

The collection holds six wallpaper patterns and one panel mural. Isadora and Hippolyte draw large stylised blooms, Felix and Leontine cover the wall with a dense arabesque and flowing lines, Etienne repeats interlocking circles and Gustav brings in a leaf motif from the Vienna Secession. The Salon des Miroirs mural makes one picture out of three panels, 210 cm wide and 300 cm high.
